How do I sign up?

Patients have two ways to become a MyHealth user:

1) Ask to sign up in your doctor's office.  You will sign an authorization form and set up a user ID and password.

2) Go to www.EssentiaMyHealth.org and click "No Access Code?  Request access now."  You will complete an electronic authorization, and you will receive an activation code and directions for getting started via US Mail.  Use this code to sign up and create your own User ID and password.

When can I see my test results in MyHealth?

Most lab results from clinic visits are placed in MyHealth early the next day. Lab results from hospital stays are placed in MyHealth when you leave the hospital.

Radiology and pathology results are placed in your MyHealth account four (4) business days after the results are final.

Please note: To protect your privacy, certain test results, diagnoses, conditions and other information may not be included in your MyHealth record. Your doctor(s) will decide what information should be posted in your MyHealth account.

Who do I contact if I have a question about information I see on MyHealth?

Essentia MyHealth pulls information directly from your electronic medical record. If you have a question about your lab results, current health issues, preventive care, medicines, allergies or any other clinical information, contact your doctor's office.

MyHealth messages are not for urgent health issues. If your concern is urgent, call your doctor's office, go to a hospital emergency room or call 911.

If I send a message to my doctor's office, when can I expect a reply?

You will generally receive an answer within two (2) business days.

Does Essentia MyHealth give me access to both my primary care team and the specialists I see?

MyHealth is available throughout Essentia Health. If you have questions about access to a certain doctor or advanced practice clinician, please call the MyHealth Patient Support Line at 1-888-868-9292.

Where do e-mail messages to my doctor's office go?

E-mails are first received by your doctor's office staff, just like a phone call. Nurses or support staff will promptly answer your questions whenever possible. They will forward your questions to your doctor when needed. Any message sent to your doctor through MyHealth becomes a permanent part of your electronic medical record.

How do I know if my doctor’s office has received my message?

Messages sent to your doctor’s office are in “Sent Messages” under the Messages tab. Messages listed in bold font have not been read by the doctor’s office. Those that are not bold have been read.

Can I access my children's or another adult’s health information in MyHealth?

Yes, if that person signs a proxy access authorization form. This document makes you their proxy and gives you access to their account. You can complete a proxy authorization form at any Essentia Health clinic or hospital, or you can log into your MyHealth account, go to the "Preferences" tab on the MyHealth home page and select “Personalize and Proxy Access”.

A proxy access authorization form must be submitted and approved before access will be granted.

Why can't I see all of my teenager's MyHealth account information?

Some of your teenager's health information is protected by state law. You will be able to view immunization and allergy records, request appointments and send e-mail messages to your child's doctor's office. Full access to their account will be granted if the teen signs the proxy authorization form.

Can I ask questions about a family member from my own MyHealth account?

No. You should never use your MyHealth account to ask advice about another person. The information you give will become part of your own permanent medical record. This could be very harmful both to the other person and to your health care.

Where can I update my personal information (such as change my password or update my e-mail address)?

Once you have logged into your MyHealth account, you can update your email address or change your password using the "My Preferences" tab on the MyHealth Home page.

Can I use any computer to access MyHealth?

After you receive an access code or a User ID and password, you can use any computer or smart device that has Internet access to view your MyHealth account.

Is MyHealth secure?

Privacy of your health information is our prime concern. Secure access codes, personal ID's and passwords (controlled by you) all help to keep your information safe. MyHealth uses the latest encryption technology to make sure that only you can access your account. MyHealth messaging is not like regular e-mail. Your MyHealth messages are sent while you are securely logged on to our website. This keeps your messages to your healthcare team safe.

Is my privacy protected?

Essentia MyHealth is a secure Internet site and your information is protected under the same privacy laws that guard your medical records. Only you, and those you have authorized, have access to your information. We use the latest safeguards including firewalls, passwords and encryption to protect your information.

There are things that only you can do to protect the confidentiality of your information in MyHealth, such as keeping your activation code, user name and password completely confidential and logging out of MyHealth before walking away from your computer.

I was logged out of MyHealth, what happened?

To protect your privacy and the security of your information, your MyHealth session ends if your keyboard remains idle for 20 minutes. It is recommended that you log out of your MyHealth session if you need to leave your computer for even a short period of time.

What do I need to use MyHealth?

You will need your User ID, password and access to a browser (such as Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox or Chrome). You may use either a computer or a smart device to access MyHealth.

Is my access code my user ID?

No. You will use your access code to log in to MyHealth for the first time. It expires after that one-time login or after 60 days if you do not use it. Once you log in successfully, you will create your User ID and password.

You will need to use your User ID and password each time you access MyHealth. Please keep your ID and password safe and private. Your MyHealth User ID and password will not expire as long as you remember them correctly. If you forget your User ID or password, please call the MyHealth Patient Support Line at 1-888-868-9292.

My access code does not work, what should I do?

For your security, your access code expires after 60 days. It is no longer valid after the first time you use it. Call our MyHealth Patient Support Line at 1-888-868-9292 if you have any problems.

What if the MyHealth site doesn't look or work right?

If boxes, tabs or text don't line up correctly or slide off the page, you may need to update your browser. MyHealth is best run on Internet Explorer 8 or above and the most recent versions of Safari, Firefox and Chrome. To update Internet Explorer, visit http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/internet-explorer.aspx.

I am not receiving e-mails from MyHealth, what should I do?

If emails from the MyHealth website do not reach your Inbox, check your junk or spam mail folder. Sometimes e-mail filters will send messages from MyHealth to your junk mail folder. In order to keep this from happening, be sure to add MyHealth to your list of allowed senders.
